Job Description:

A medical device manufacturing company in Laguna Niguel is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. This role will be responsible for the functions of machine control systems, including design, programming, and troubleshooting.

This is a full time, direct hire opportunity with pay starting at $125,000/year. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Controls Engineer Responsibilities:

• Prepare electrical schematics for equipment (24VDC based control system)
• Develop operating software for newly developed equipment using PLC based control system (Keyence & Omron are models used)
• Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software & equipment (AutoCAD)
• Design, implement, maintain, and improve medical device manufacturing equipment, components, products, and systems
• Assist in directing and coordinating manufacturing, assembly/construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
• Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment
• Perform detailed calculations when needed in the course of the development of equipment.
• Investigate customer complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures
• Assist in overseeing production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget Controls Engineer Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. Must have electrical qualifications at a technician level
  • 5-20 years of experience preferred. Strong electrical background at a technician level, with successful work experience in PLC and HMI programming. Should be experienced in designing electrical controls for machines and have knowledge and experience in creating schematics in AutoCAD.
  • Must possess a high degree of strong organizational and analytical skills.
    
    Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 Per Year
