Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a Safety Manager
This job will have the following responsibilities:
--- Provide Safety Leadership creating enthusiasm and participation
among management, forepersons, and employees resulting in excellent
safety performance.
--- Chair the monthly and quarterly safety meetings and develop the
daily toolbox meeting schedules and materials for the field.
--- Collaborate with outside safety resources and internal
management/employees to create a world-class safety culture.
--- Maintain jobsite first aid and emergency response supplies.
--- Coordinate post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
--- Investigate all accidents by reviewing incident reports,
interviewing witnesses, completing the accident investigation
report form, and holding the Accident review Board to identify a
plan to prevent recurrence.
--- Monitor all site safety reports and maintain the company's
safety bulletin board with awareness materials and postings.
--- Track, compile and present leading indicator statistics to the
leadership team
COMPLIANCE:
--- Identify workplace safety hazards and take all necessary steps
to assist management in corrective action to eliminate or minimize
them.
--- Document actions take in a weekly activity report to
management.
--- Understand, create, and implement safety policies and
procedures.
--- Understand all environmental permitting regulations and
measures to ensure compliance.
--- Implement the company environmental program and perform
inspections and audits as required by law and company policy.
--- Understand all environmental permitting regulations and
measures to ensure compliance.
--- Participate in site inspections and testing as necessary and
compile findings reports in a timely manner.
--- Review safety program documentation, record keeping, document
posting, permitting and regulatory compliance documentation and
keep updated as required.
--- Lead the planning and implementation of an Injury & Illness
Prevention Program, Hazard Communication Program, and Bloodborne
Pathogens Exposure Control Plan in compliance with federal, state,
and Skeffington company policies, including a hazardous materials
list, MSDS file, container labeling, employee training, and
subcontractor communications.
--- Create training and presentation materials and present safety
emphasis to ALL employees.
--- Lead the emergency response process.
--- Maintain safety metrics and performance metrics and routinely
share with management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
--- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
--- Highly proficient with all Microsoft Office products.
--- Types and writes reports with accuracy and uses appropriate
grammar.
--- Ability to oversee and manage all aspects of a safety program
on highly complex construction and fleet projects.
--- Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations and hazard recognition,
record keeping and injury management.
--- CPR/First Aid Instructor certification and training
experience.
--- Working towards Professional certification (CHST, CMSP,
etc.)
Experience:
Safety: Seven (7) years preferred; five (5) years required.
Construction Safety: Five (5) years required.
Fleet Safety: Three (3) years required.
Licenses:
CA Driver's License (Required)
OSHA Construction 30-hour card and/or OSHA General Industry 30-hour
card OSHA 30 (Required)
