We are seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in California, starting Feb 16, 2026, for 60 days. This role features day shifts, Monday through Friday, in a busy clinic caring for a diverse patient population. The assignment requires recent experience in a Family Practice setting and an active California DEA and furnishing license. Job Details - Location: California - Start Date: Feb 16, 2026 - LOA: 60 days - Provider Type Needed: Family Nurse Practitioner - Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm Responsibilities and Duties - Provide primary care for a large volume of patients, primarily in a Family Practice setting - Deliver care for a patient population that is 75 percent Spanish-speaking, with translators and Spanish-speaking medical assistants available - Manage a patient base that includes approximately 78 percent Medical/Medicaid - Collaborate with medical assistants and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow - Utilize Epic EMR for all charting and patient documentation - Maintain high standards of care in accordance with FQHC, Rural Health, or IHS expectations Additional Information - Locum experience required - Experience in FQHC, Rural Health, or IHS strongly preferred - Recent Family Practice experience mandatory; Internal Medicine and Pediatrics-only backgrounds not accepted - Must have active California DEA with furnishing license - Required board certification in Family Medicine - Please confirm any needed time off before applying Benefits - Strong compensation - Travel-related expenses covered - A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided - Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
